Business
Montréal centre-ville is the Business Development Corporation (SDC) of downtown Montréal, a non-profit organization that brings together nearly 5,000 member businesses located between Atwater Avenue and Saint-Urbain Street, and between Sherbrooke and Saint-Antoine Streets.
Our mission
Montréal centre-ville’s mission is to make Montréal’s downtown core the most vibrant and innovative urban heart in North America: a leading business district where the human, commercial, and cultural experience redefines international standards and attracts visitors, talent, and investment.
To achieve this, the organization develops and leads transformative projects that tangibly enhance everyday life and the downtown area’s attractiveness throughout the year. Montréal centre-ville takes action on the ground to provide a welcoming, safe, and lively environment for the benefit of visitors, workers, and residents.
SDC organization is governed by the Cities and Towns Act. For more information, see SDC regulations.
SDC financing
Member businesses pay an annual membership fee. This is calculated based on:
- the surface area of the premises occupied;
- the non-residential property value of the premises.
The annual contribution is compulsory for all businesses operating in the downtown area.
For more information, see SDC regulations.
